The Nexus of Life
Executive consultant Christine Watt is determined to advance her career at all costs. Born on a smallholding on the South African West Coast, she plies her trade in the Cape Town city centre.
Confident and dynamic, Chris is manipulative and hungry for success and finds justification in the deceitful world of business espionage. Feeding her indulgence to win regardless of the consequences, the allure of attention draws her into a vortex of deceit until ultimately expended.
As the guillotine falls, the real picture unfolds and Chris goes to ground.
The pulse of the story slows in the everyday struggle of change. Previously discarded support unexpectedly comes in the form of family and a colleague, but she struggles with an inability to reflect on the narrative of her life. Morbidly depressed, she rejects any form of assistance.
Is it possible to pick up the pieces? Can those who love her save her from self-destruction? Is it too late for Chris or can anyone reach into the darkness of her soul?
The Nexus of Life carries a Christian theme, combining the love of God with the love of nature and throughout, the golden thread is acceptance.
